In Alberta, if you are convicted of driving with a suspended license, you can pay fines as high as $2300, have your license suspended for a further six months and/or spend up to six months in jail.

The vehicle you were driving will be impounded for at least 30 days…even if it’s not yours. The owner of the vehicle will also be responsible for all towing and impound fees.

Your insurance rates will skyrocket for the next three years and failure to pay the suspended license fine on time will result in at least 14 days to a maximum of 6 months in jail.
